Functional Hand-Built Vessels

The main goal of this assignment is to create something functional(pottery made for use). You may need to use several hand-building techniques to complete this project; coils, pinch pots, slabs, attaching and carving.

You can make anything! Check out these ideas from Pinterest:

Kitchen wares, organizers, or even bird feeders. This project can be very diverse and useful.

  • Create functional pottery to solve a predetermined problem.
  • Use best practice pottery techniques and show good craftsmanship.
  • Design work that is successful in functional and decorative design.
