Cuba High School Art Club is sponsoring a Chili Cook-Off on November 4th @ Cuba High School.  The cost of this event is $5.  For that small fee, patrons will be able to taste all competing chilis and vote for their favorite.  The winning chili will receive a cash prize and “Golden Ladle”.  All proceeds support Cuba Art Club!

Participants:  Contact a Cuba High School Art Club member or Mrs. Brewer @ jbrewer2@cusd3.net to sign up in advance for the cook-off.  Or, bring your chili out and sign up at 4:30pm before the event.

WIU Art Trip

We were lucky enough to be invited to WIU for a day of art making.  Students began their day in the jewelry making lab and learned to make rings.

Then they were able to spend time learning and practicing throwing on the pottery wheel.

We have been invited to go to WIU several times now.  The Professors and students there have been awesome to our kids and it has been a great experience.

Chicago Trip

Art Club took a trip to Chicago this year.  It was a rainy day but we still had a lot of fun.

We took the train into the city and had pizza at Giordano’s.

Were some of us really enjoyed that our waitress brought us our own pitcher of soda.

From there we ventured through the city to the Art Institute.

Meanwhile, it rained the entire time!

But we didn’t care!

At the Art Institute, students were able to see some of the art we talked about through out the year.

After the museum, we had to walk over to the Cloud Gate, AKA The Bean.

We had a great time.
